Introduction to Browsers
Since the Internet had begun, many browsers have made their debut (including the more popular browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome; we’ll talk about those later). A browser is a type of software used to “surf” or browse (hence the term browser) the Internet.
There are many browsers in the world of the computer. Each of the browsers contains many differences and key features. There are two reasons for the use of multiple web browsers; the innovation and security. If each browser had the same style and features, multiple web browsers would be extinct.

Although there are many browsers available for download, there are only a few that are well known. These browsers include: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Apple Safari. These web browsers are developed by major companies such as Apple, Google, or the Mozilla Corporation. Each browser has a distinct design or set of features that
signify what browser you are using. For example, Mozilla Firefox has an orange
tab in the right - hand corner that says “Firefox” in white writing.
People like to use browsers that are safe. With each browser comes certain security involved in browsing the web. For example, Google Chrome includes Avast! Anti-virus software that tells you if a site is good based on its ratings. Security is an essential for browsing the Internet.
